Early night last night ready for today's big game, hoping the gaffer saw something in me at training to maybe get the nod :-) and Tony has even sent us some rain overnight for the pitch :-)

WHS.
I have been retired for 8 years now and I can confirm two things; You cannot work out how you found time to go to work and it is wonderful to be TOTALLY in charge of your life, with the wife's permission of course. Read me in the Our Town magazine.

Had to leave just before half time but it was 2-0 to Witton.

The first came from the keeper droppping an easy shot and the centre half poked it home (one of the Jumps?)

The second was when Scott Carter was through on goal. His low shot lacked pace but the keeper let it squirm under him.

Deeley was rolling back the years in midfield with a nice little stepover dummy at one point

Very tight 2nd half, but we hung on with some very good defending to retain the cup with a 2-1 win. I think Stuart Jump got MOM

Yes, Stuart was dominant all the game a great performance. A great occasion well organized but a shame there weren't a few more to see it. Those that did attend must have enjoyed it.

Really enjoyed today was a great game played in the best of spirits, as said above Stu Jump was easily MOM but to be fair every player who went on the pitch gave 100% for the team.

A big thanks to staff who helped out today and especially Robbo for organising the game.

Money raised in the name of a great Wittoner for a very worthy cause.

Already looking forward to the next instalment of the Tony Waterman Cup game :-)

Thank you to everyone involved yesterday; it was a fitting tribute to Dad and he'd have been more than pleased for Witton to win the first silverware of the season!

Really good to see so many positive comments on here and various social media sites.

I feel it is only right that i say a few thank you's.

Obviously to all the Witton lads who turned up and played on the day, especially Nige and Mike - real legends the both of them. Also thanks to the Runcorn lads, not just for yesterday but also for some great games over the last 5 years.

Ref and linesmen were great sports, and did it for free.

Thanks to Mark and the Club for use of the stadium, the groundstaff for sorting the pitch out, and the various volunteers who helped clean up after us.

Cheers to Jimmy for opening Willy's Bar for the day, Hannah for manning the tea hut, and Karen for washing the kit which Des so kindly sorted out for us.

Thanks to all who came down to cheer us on on the day too - it does mean a lot to get a crowd down!!

To see pretty much the whole club show their support in one way or another yesterday was brilliant - and i'm sure the Watermans also appreciated it.

As i'm sure most people can appreciate, it is so special for us to represent Witton by playing on the Wincham Park pitch.

I'm proud of what we did yesterday - it might not be much, but it was all done for the right reasons.

UTA.
