Well you got the rain! Cannot make it but I wish you all the best and I hope you raise lots of money.
I have been retired for 8 years now and I can confirm two things; You cannot work out how you found time to go to work and it is wonderful to be TOTALLY in charge of your life, with the wife's permission of course. Read me in the Our Town magazine.
It was a very good day and everything was great and we won ! so Tony was definetly watching over us- a wonderful man and a super Wittoner, lovely to see his family down too- well done to everyone involved.
Really good to see so many positive comments on here and various social media sites.
I feel it is only right that i say a few thank you's.
Obviously to all the Witton lads who turned up and played on the day, especially Nige and Mike - real legends the both of them. Also thanks to the Runcorn lads, not just for yesterday but also for some great games over the last 5 years.
Ref and linesmen were great sports, and did it for free.
Thanks to Mark and the Club for use of the stadium, the groundstaff for sorting the pitch out, and the various volunteers who helped clean up after us.
Cheers to Jimmy for opening Willy's Bar for the day, Hannah for manning the tea hut, and Karen for washing the kit which Des so kindly sorted out for us.
Thanks to all who came down to cheer us on on the day too - it does mean a lot to get a crowd down!!
To see pretty much the whole club show their support in one way or another yesterday was brilliant - and i'm sure the Watermans also appreciated it.
As i'm sure most people can appreciate, it is so special for us to represent Witton by playing on the Wincham Park pitch.
I'm proud of what we did yesterday - it might not be much, but it was all done for the right reasons.
