Witton make the short journey to our friends at Runcorn Linnets on Tuesday night for our penultimate pre season friendly. Matches between the two clubs in pre season, have become a regular event since Linnets shared Wincham Park before moving to their current home. The friendship between the two has grown over the years that it has become an annual meeting. The majority of the pre season games have been played at The Millbank Linnets Stadium and supporters have made their way to the game on foot in recent years but then the majority of the meetings have been played at the weekends. Witton's pre season has been positive so far, their only defeat coming against a strong Crewe Alexandra side. Runcorn have also performed well in pre season although their last game ended in a 2-0 defeat to FC United of Manchester at the weekend. One familiar face who may line-up against us on the night is defender Nick Ryan, who suffered such a terrible injury which forced him to miss the whole of last season but, he was in the Linnets line-up on Saturday afternoon. Nick has moved on to hopefully resurrect his career and we certainly wish him well with that. At the same time, Witton's Danny McKenna also returns to a place that he knows well. Games between the two are usually keenly contested and entertaining and hopefully, this will be no different. Kick off at Millbank Linnets Stadium is 7.45pm.
