When you play semi-pro football you are signing up for a commitment to your team for the whole of the season. Yes it's tough working full-time and playing part time but that's their choice. It's a good job the other lads don't follow suit or we'd have no team. You and the management are obviously more tolerant of this than I am.
Anyway back to the game. Did nobody off here go yesterday?? I've been looking forward to a bit of a report, besides the one from Basford. a mate of a mate went he said we defended like troupers and Danny was tremendous in goal. It says in that report that he got injured anyone know anymore?
This is a spot on review of the match. Basford are one of the strongest side I have seen us play this season! I just hope that Roberts injury problems were just time wasting, as his performance got us this win..........fantastic keeper! To be honest, they battered us in the 2nd half, but some great discipline stopped them from scoring. We need to win this league, as I dont fancy us playing Basford in the play offs, even though we have done the double over them!
Apparently it's his birthday, booked way before any rearranged matches due to delays, cancellations. This lad never misses training and has not missed any matches for discipline or injury. I seem to remember a few senior players missing matches earlier in the season, hopley, gards to name 2.
CJ is spot on these players have families, careers and travel for multiple matches per week! Stop talking crap
Sorry did we just win 3 tough games this week ? We have lost 3 games this season, paul played in 2 of them. You seem to be a glass half empty sort of guy. All non league clubs have to deal with this situation with players taking hols and unable to play due to work commitments, It happens, always has and always will.
Most players sign on for a season yes, but if any other club waves enough cash under their nose im sure youll find they will be off, not all i admit, and if a club and its supporters stand by their players and make them welcome, especially when they are having a great season, they are more likely to stay loyal.
You can always ask Paul youself for his reasons for having a break. All these lads that are here are very approachable and are willing to talk to the fans as are the management.
We dont have anybody who writes up match reports I'm afraid and we have to rely on Simmo for the most part for that. And he cant always be present. TT does his best on occasions but he does have other duties on match days. The Basford match report was very accurate and unbiased . As for Danny's well being I'm sure the fitness of any player will be announced before the next game. You could get your mate's mate to send you a report.
I have no idea what I am doing. But incompetence has never prevented me from plunging in with enthusiasm."
Blimey been away for a few days so missed the Lincoln and Basford games. Got to say the two goals against Basford were stunning especially the Lycett one which was pure skill. Remember Pele scoring one like that in the world cup and everyone was raving about it for weeks. Thanks for That Knutsfordian a real delight must have watched it a dozen times now!! UTA
