There was more than one player that didn't cover themselves in glory tonight - overall, a pretty brainless performance, particularly in the second half. It felt like an endless sequence of back pass to goalie, hoof upfield, straight to one of theirs, back under pressure. Had our moments in first half, but never looked like scoring in the second. Very disappointing.

Same Old Same Old, build you up, money on the table, then a toothless, heartless inept performance like that.........the club could of so done with that money.

very disappointing, second half we were totally inept. why hoof the ball up field when we have no one that can head the ball, and why let coops take free kicks, his kicking is, to put it mildly, awful. come on you guys you can play football if you would only play on the deck, instead of trying to reach the moon with your passes.it was nice to see gards back in action. that is the only positive thing to come from this game, except for josh's freekick resulting in us taking the lead. we now just have to pick ourselves up and compete in the upcoming games to try and win back witton fans that are feeling flat after tonights performance.

Very poor last night. You can take defeat if u know the players have give it 100% but there was a total lack of effort from all concerned.

Agree with all the posts. I was sure I spotted their keeper reading the paper and having a ciggie in the 2nd half. A few suggestions for improvement:

1) Don't start slowly - sometimes we get away with it and end up the stronger in the 2nd half as the other team run out of steam - last night it didn't
2) Encourage midfielders to look forward and pass forward initially, if you pass back you lose all momentum
3) Try not to play TWO slow strikers in tandem, if you can
4) Don't blame the fans for not getting behind the team. Unless you're weird like FCUM you don't sing when you're losing. It has to come from the team and then we will respond. We're in a financial hole, as most teams are, and what is our reward for shelling out money to watch the Albs? Two cup performances against Ashton and Leek that basically THROW AWAY thousands because of lack of effort and guile.

Rant ends...

Agree with a lot of what's been said already, however I don't agree that there was a lack of effort out there, didn't see anyone shirking and I though Nev ran his taters off!

Also I thought we started strongly

I do agree with the lack of guile though, second half we were inept and the formation at tmes looked like 4-2-4!!!! with the resultant and inevitable long ball tactic. Some poor decision making out there but we've gone 7 unbeaten and we were playing a team who aren't that many places below us at present so it was hardly a massive shock or giant killing, and we just have to move on,

Credit to Leek as well thought they played well the No.6 Hill sat in and dictated the game for them, how bad was the wall for the free kick btw!

Another positive for me last night was Danny Andrews who never stopped working for the team and was always a threat when running at the defence. To me, he has been our most consistent performer so far this season, rather unlucky also to receive a yellow card late in the game which if I'm not mistaken will now mean a one match suspension.

In my experience players have off days at all levels of football but I can honestly say I have never known a footballer not to try. They may look like they are not trying at times but mostly that is frustration at their own performance. Brian Pritchard is a damn good manager who has now put together a reasonably settled team and the idea he would put up with a lack of effort from ANY player is an insult to a man who knows more about football than any of us on here. My rant is over, I will now go back into my cage.

I have been retired for 8 years now and I can confirm two things; You cannot work out how you found time to go to work and it is wonderful to be TOTALLY in charge of your life, with the wife's permission of course. Read me in the Our Town magazine.
