Taking ( ripping ) the heart out of the team after a good win at Prescot is beyond me. I will support the manager as long as he is here but leaving out Pritch and Boothy was today a big mistake. Sorry but as well as Rudd is playing at the back he is not a defender - he was signed to score and create goals which apart from the first match of the season he has not done. We will probably lose Boothy now which is a shame because the lad just wants to play football and he is young enough for us to make a bit of money on him he was allowed to carry on progressing as he has done. Who knows if he stayed with us in time he could have become the new " Pritch" ?

We played poor today - no leadership on the pitch - never looked like scoring until the penalty incident after which we could have avoided a replay in the end.

Have to mention the officials today who very poor indeed - they missed several incidents for both teams and thoroughly spoilt the game. Hope it is not the same idiots again on Monday.

We can go there and do the business but the right team has to be selected.

I just want to say on behalf of the rest of the family thank you to all at Witton Albion for the match in memory of my Dad. Also for program tribute announcements and all condolences I recieved from club officials and alot of supporters for my Dad this afternoon.
His sister , niece and granddaughter attended the game and like myself left very proud , they really did enjoy the afternoon. Thank you again , and lets hope we can get a result in the replay.

That was very like the Cheatsown game.
An early goal when our defence was outstripped and then outrageous time wasting.
Fortunately the incompetent ref made one significant decision in our favour.
It was definitely a penalty so how did the defender not get a least a yellow card?
There must be something in the psyche of Midlanders which causes them to "play" like that.
The lack of away support speaks volumes.
We can go there and win but you've got to question the team selection.
Everyone could see the lift that Pritch gave the team. Get your head straight Finley and play the two centrebacks who started on the bench today.
You might have your way of running things but this is our club and we're here for the long haul, you aren't.
If we fail to progress and win the money then your time is up if it's down to team selection and not Sudden Coldfeeling being any good.

Very strange lacklustre performance today! just what we needed, another central defender, a stroke of genious there! Boothy, Pritch, Ruddinho, and the new signing!!

Surely not Redfan

There will be a time when the "Great one" has to make way for better players but this is not it.

What the bloody hell was Finley thinking, Ok new centre half rest pritch and play him alongside boothy, simples. Not in finleys world. Speaking to Boothy after the game he was as confused as every other witton fan and any other player would have walked there and then boothy wants to play for witton, but for how long.
We are trying to get people back to witton to watch football what a joke., on this pereformance and team selection we are going to be in deep sh*t. Fans contribute their hard earned cash every week to boost club funds and finley lets £2300 slip through his fingers( replay apart)by poor team selection, p**s off finley you muppet.

Perhaps Finley is thinking of making a come back himself!! Colwyn Bay fans were saying that if he was short of numbers hed goon the bench himself???? Well the 'new centre back'is only 34 years old so you never know

MY GOD!! I cannot believe what I am reading!! THe performance was poor, but it was no worse than the week before when Pritch's lack of pace cost us two goals. The Manager tries to fix that problem and faces crucifixion!! Pritch has been a great servant to this Club but his career is close to its end, we have to face that fact. Don't crucify the Manager for facing a fact we don't want to, a future without Pritch at the centre of our defence. We will win on Monday whether Pritch plays or not because we have some good players who sadly for the last two home games have played poorly. They are lower non league players, you cannot expect the same level of performance week after week, if you could they would be playing elswehere. THey WILL bounce back on Monday (I hope!!)

Couldnt make the match as I live a million miles away but come on, surely some of whats being said is taking it a bit far. We are doing fairly well in the league for a team that has only just come together and cup games can be a bit of a lottery sometimes. We are trying to re-build the club and we arent doing that badly.

Let's get a few things straight; yes Pritch is coming to the end of his career. He is approaching 35 and he knows himself his time is almost up. So yes we do need to be looking to the future, and finding someone who can step into his shoes. And we have found him - he was sat next to Pritch on the bench yesterday. Ruffer is a massive SIX WEEKS younger than Pritch. He is hardly the long-term successor to the number 4 shirt is he!

What is ridiculous is that in this week's Guardian Finley is praising the partnership between Pritch and Rudd, and then goes and changes it for such a massive game!

If you look at our results this season, conceding goals has not been the major issue. What we have lacked is creativity, and i don't see how we resolve that issue by bringing in another centrehalf. In our last 2 home games we have only scored from penalties. Away at Chasetown we wouldn't have scored if we had played till Xmas. The same can be said about the Sheffield game. If we could score goals we would of beaten both Leek and Belper, both of whom created very very little. I missed the Congleton game, but apparently we created just as little then (and of course Pritch can't be blamed for the goal we conceded that day).

If we are over budget like Rabbit suggests then i have to wonder if the money is being spent in the most efficient way. Of the contracted players we have at the Club, i understand that one is a striker being played at centrehalf, whereas 3 more began on the bench and managed to play about 40 minutes between them yesteday. That just doesn't make sense to me. If Heler, Brodie, and Booth aren't in Finley's first team plans then i have to ask why the hell he has them on contracts? We are now stuck with their wages week on week whilst trying to strengthen the team in the areas which we are lacking (yesterday's performance would suggest there are several such areas!).

Pritch is not untouchable, nobody is suggesting otherwise. But had he been on the bench due to Booth starting i would understand that. Had we brought in a centrehalf of age 26 or 27, again i could see the logic. But i just don't see how bringing Ruffer in is going to strengthen a team that has hardly been shipping goals at an alarming rate. We play a high defensive line, the knock-on effect of this is that we are always likely to caught in behind.

We have been pretty fortunate so far in that we are in a pretty awful league - i am yet to see a quality side in it. Personally i have only seen us play well on 2, maybe 3, occasions. It says alot about our current performances when we are towards the top of the league but peopls are still so disillusioned with the way the team is performing.

In regards to the game yesterday, the ref was terrible. He just did not have a clue, and had no control of the game whatsoever. The play-acting by their keeper was nothing short of a disgrace and there is no place for that at any level of football, be it the Premier League or 6-a-side down at John Deanes. He should be ashamed of himself, as should his Club. It reminded me of Rivaldo at the 2002 World Cup, it was that bad. The ref acknowledged that he was play-acting, so therefore why did he not show him a card? The officials were just totally out of their depth.

We as fans turn up each week out of loyalty, but the idea is that we are there to be entertained. Entertainment value is pretty thin on the ground at the moment - let's hope that loyalty doesn't start to go the same way.

But for now....KTF!!

I think we need to keep real. a poor performance that rallied towards the end against a dreadful side and an even worse referee. Not good to watch but that won't be lost on the manager.

Gary is experienced, knows what he has to do and will get on with the job if we let him. If we start falling out between ourselves, this season will implode like the last and we could well fall another league.

Lets hope the team perform and win tomorrow and lets move on.

Each season i highlight what matches will not make for good viewing. They are always cup ties played for large sums of money.Yesterdays game did not surprise me.I would defy any team that would comfortably overcome Suttons game-plan and also provide entertainment.
Gary at half time enabled the team to finish strongly.Peter Heler sent over two very good corners that made the opposition defend.
We actually could have won the game.I appreciate it may not have been in ideal circumstances for some spectators, but the opposition deployed classic ugly away from home cup tactics.
Last round we deployed CLASSIC away from home cup tactics.I think Gary deserved great credit for that.I think today he deserves a little more respect.
I will be there tomorrow night, courtesy of the team bus bacause i feel that we have a good solid team that will suit tomorrow nights match. The opposition will have to come out and play and i hope that will play right into our hands.
There are bigger Wittoners than myself out there and i respect their feelings. In my little football world all that matters is that we gave ourselves a second chance.

FORZA WITTON AND ALL WHO SAIL IN HER.
