Witton's Academy team are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday afternoon following the Christmas break, when they welcome leaders Radcliffe FC (Blue) in a JOMA Division fixture. The first part of the campaign went extremely well before the holiday and the team also have the next stage of the NPL Football Academy Cup to look forward to although, the opposition is still to be announced. Details of Wednesday's game are still to be confirmed.
Witton's Academy team return to league action on Wednesday afternoon when they welcome league leaders Radcliffe FC (Blue) in an NPL Football Academy Joma Division fixture. Witton begin the new year in third place in the table after an excellent start to the season before the break but face a team who have won everyone of their eight league fixtures to date and were the side who ended Witton's unbeaten start to the season. Radcliffe have been free-scoring so far, averaging nearly five goals a game but Albion managed to restrict the runaway leaders to only two goals when the two met at The Neuven Stadium in the reverse fixture. They have also progressed through to the next stage of the NPL Football Academy Cup by putting ten past their sister club, a feat bettered only by Witton, who rattled in eighteen against new-boys Ossett United. Witton will be looking to resume their campaign in positive mood and hopefully get themselves a bit closer to the top two but Radcliffe are leaders on merit and will provide a difficult test. Kick off at Wincham Park is 1pm.
