So here we go again a decent first friendly to have a look at the Albion squad, Brad Bauress back (albeit in a Southport shirt ) a host of new signings for the Reds! So lots to look forward to. We will probably see a mixed team with trialists as seems to be the way nowadays but it would be good to see at some point a strong team out such as:
Gards, Humphreys, Wilson, Devine
Prince, Owens, Smart, Foley
plus we have a pretty strong bench to run the eye over, its been a long close season! SO get yourself down to see the Albion tomorrow
Witton begin their pre season programme when they welcome Vanarama League North Southport to Wincham Park. The Sandgrounders have been active during the summer in bringing new faces to The Merseyrail Community Stadium as well as appointing Liam Watson & former Chester manager Jon McCarthy to replace Kevin Davies. There are a few faces that will be well known to Albion fans amongst the Sandgrounders ranks, including Zac Corbett, former Albion loanee Liam Davies and one player who needs no introduction to Wincham Park, Bradley Bauress who joined Southport following his release from Barrow. Southport kicked off their pre season programme at the weekend with a 3-0 win over Widnes so will be looking to continue that promising start whilst these games are mainly about match fitness in readiness for the season ahead. Witton have also seen changes in personnel during the summer so the new lads will be keen to make an impression. Kick off at Wincham Park is 7.30pm.

Their are several on the bench/squad who are very good players and we need a good squad to challenge this season, my team doesnt include the new centre back wardle but I expect to see him playing plenty of football and eventually I hope we see a new pacy striker to replace Steve Tames UTA
