Regretfully, we will have to pull the plug on transport from Northwich and Witton Chimes to the stadium and return. Last Saturday we had 5 people use the service. It was originally intended to attract new supporters who found it difficult getting to the ground, through lack of transport, youngsters, older people and disabled etc. We had no problem at all in regular supporters jumping on board, but we're now losing too much money on this, and not attracting new supporters who would have paid for the service by admission charges and all the extras, which is just not happening.

We can only try new ideas, but we must also be aware when they don't work, action needs to be taken.

Good riddance I say. It was a good idea and if I was able to promote it better than it could had worked out a tad better. But if it doesn't work, don't fix it....as they say in my line of work haha

I am not sure how we get our messages out better, we seemed to have tried most things.

I have been retired for 8 years now and I can confirm two things; You cannot work out how you found time to go to work and it is wonderful to be TOTALLY in charge of your life, with the wife's permission of course. Read me in the Our Town magazine.

I tend to agree with what has already been said, the idea was to try and attract new supporters. People who already attend would come anyway whether there was a bus or not.

We did try it when we first moved up to Wincham and for a short while it had an effect but unfortunately didn't last.

Sadly it appears the newcomers to the town are not drawn to their local football teams. Apart from dragging them to the ground by the scruff of their necks I am at a loss as to get them to come.

To be fair if you or I moved to another part of the country would you have the same passion for another non league football club as you do for Witton Albion? I seriously doubt I would. What does frustrate me is the extra 400-500 "wittoners" at the Spalding play off game and the numbers at Shaw Lane towards the end of last season. There is nothing as fickle as a football fan, more so these days than ever before unfortunately. UTA

If there's room on the band wagon people will always jump on. Just ask the Winsford lot!
