WHS wrote: By your definition Villa are not a big club or Juventus or Newcastle but we all know that given investment and good results they can be big clubs again like say Man City who not too long ago were in the third tier of English football. A successful Witton would attract much bigger gates because they have past, present and future, you only have the present.
WHS.

By my definition all three ARE big clubs as the latter two are well supported and villa have won numerous cup and titles.
City despite being in the third tier were still well supported so again fitting into the big club description.

1874 are now in their 3rd season so I believe the other two count as past/history unless the definition of the these have changed?
Any team attracts bigger crowds when they are successful regardless of its history/past etc, it's not a rocket science statement is it!

Three seasons in a "Dog and Duck" league is not a history, it is a joke. And because you have no ground or financial backing you have no real future. Witton on the other hand have a glorious past in the old Cheshire League and the old Northen Premier League, their own ground and are about to receive a substantial sum of money plus the cash from the REAL Vics. ( if they actually pay up, personally I think they are an inch from extinction.)
Now please go away and talk to the other deluded fans of the TOTALLY wrongly named Northwich 1874, you are not in Northwich nor was your original club formed in 1874!!
WHS.

I have been retired for 8 years now and I can confirm two things; You cannot work out how you found time to go to work and it is wonderful to be TOTALLY in charge of your life, with the wife's permission of course. Read me in the Our Town magazine.

In my opinion, it's worrying to see so many Wittoners who don't see 1874 as a threat.

Their crowds are in the same ball park as ours, the togetherness of the club arguably surpasses ours and more importantly they seem to be on a positive trajectory - much unlike Witton since 2013.

It doesn't really matter that we used to be in the Conference or we won the Cheshire League back in the 1940s - we are where we are and that is about 15 places above the 'Dog and Duck League.'

And I hate green, as well.

Imagine if you will, you are a local businessman thinking of sponsoring a local football club. Do you choose one of two teams with no ground and no real financial structure or do you choose a club with a 125 year history, it's own ground and social club and it's finances in good order? Finished with this now except to say that whilst I am proud of our past I am extremely excited about our future.

If I were a local businessman looking to increase my company's local profile I would wait and see the result of events in Liverpool Crown Court.

All advertising is good advertising! Probably the best time to sponsor.

I thought this link was for the cup final on Monday. It seems to have been hijacked by a couple of morons who like to insult each others intelligence ( i use that lasr phrase loosely ). Why dont you get each others email to continue your own topic, and keep this drivel out of the forum.

John8b.

I apologize for bringing such an unsavoury subject onto your website, but I like many other local residents consider it relevant.

I will now change the subject and say that despite the very evident difference between our Dog and Duck amateur side run by the fans for their own benefit and your very professional, wealthy, ground owning, league dominating side I predict not only a victory for 1874 but also a larger number of 1874 supporters than your prawn eating sandwich, private jet owning supporters.

Is that better?

Get your advertising and publicity "stuff" ready then as Andy Simpson of the Northwich Guardian has reported that Jim Rushe has just been found guilty at Liverpool Crown Court.

Personally I have more sympathy with the victims of this deadly trade, but as you say money is money and lets hope that local companies and residents see it that way.

Jim Rushe is not associated with Witton Albion, He is a "consultant" and previous owner of Northwich Victoria with whom regrettably we have agreed a 1 year tenancy extension to share our ground- He is not a director or an official of that club so do not try to poison Witton Albion name with that link. We have done nothing illegal or immoral in our history- some bad decisions maybe ? but that is all. UTA

I take it that after events today, Witton Albion will be ensuring, as owners of WP, that Jim Rushe is no longer allowed on the premises of the stadium through whatever apparent voluntary role he has. I'm also assuming that JRFC will make sure that whatever connection Rushe has at their club is completely terminated.

I don't think you have to worry yourself, he will not be on the premises of any football ground in the near future.
