It is with great sadness to let everyone know that, unfortunately, Dad died this morning. He loved Witton Albion Football Club, the people, the players, and everyone involved with the Club. He was as proud as punch that Brian and Nige were getting the playing side really going, and I'm sure he will continue watching from wherever he is. Can I thank everyone for making him feel such a big part of such a great club, and wish you well for this season and the future.

Deepest sympathies to you and your family. A great character and I will certainly miss his dry sense of humour.

Steve, so sorry to hear about your loss. Can only echo Andy's sentiments above, your Dad was always great for some football banter and was great to have a chat to on a matchday. He will most definitely be missed at Wincham Park.

RIP

Totally shattered by this very sad news. Can only echo what has already been posted and I'll treasure, even more, the books that "Grumpy" passed on to myself only a few weeks ago.

Deepest sympathies to all the Crompton family on the loss of their loved one.

When I read the replies to this sad news I realise more than ever why we call ourselves a "Family Club".
WHS.
I have been retired for 8 years now and I can confirm two things; You cannot work out how you found time to go to work and it is wonderful to be TOTALLY in charge of your life, with the wife's permission of course. Read me in the Our Town magazine.

Deepest sympathy to Steve and your family at this sad time.

Geoff was a top bloke and I consider it my pleasure to have known him.

Rapier wit and dry as hell-loved every conversation/bit of banter with him.

RIP
