We cant get carried away about being TOP OF THE LEAGUE, as there are some good teams with games in hand, but lets enjoy it, and thank Carl & his team for getting us there!

It begs the question about which is the weaker division between the Evostik North & South, when the 2 teams promoted from the South are 1st & 2nd in the Premier!

We played some great football tonight and fully deserved this victory albeit that Stalybridge played the second half with 10 men. I thought the new left back Mckenna was a star, but there were other super performances too throughout the team and to cap it all we find ourselves top of the league !!

Won the Golden Goal then got a blinding headache from my Shingles, so bad I had to go home. Great result lads. We are top but let us not get too carried away, there are a lot of good teams in this league.

I have been retired for 8 years now and I can confirm two things; You cannot work out how you found time to go to work and it is wonderful to be TOTALLY in charge of your life, with the wife's permission of course. Read me in the Our Town magazine.

We've adapted to the higher league very well, sooner than I expected and the lads are giving us everything!

A very good win, in fact we played our best before they had a man sent off, played some lovely football and yes Danny McKenna was excellent and a dead ball specialist ! horrible tackle on Jones and I hope he is not too bad ? lovely goal by Ryan very sharp finish, the midfield is very lively and the strikers are now gelling and scoring the goals now so it looks very good at the moment from top of the table UTA

Thought we were superb yesterday. Played some "ole" football and was delighted with Danny McKenna's performance. Would had been interesting to see how we would had coped with a full eleven against us but 3 points is 3 points. #UTA

Only just seen the attendance was 244. That's poor for us isn't it? Seen much higher previously on a normal Tuesday night game.

We need a cup win at Workington to get people interested. Cup runs always help attendance.

2nd highest attendance on the night after Alty - you can't drag folks out if they decide to stay at home - but the other lot did have nigh on 300 after their cup win so shows how important cup wins are to build momentum

The team's lofty position might bring a few more out at the weekend. We can only hope it has the desired effect.

Thought we were superb last night and it could have easily been 6 or 7. We seem to be getting the balance just right now and the new players we have brought in seem to be gelling well with the rest, which was always going to take a while. Prince and McKenna were outstanding, Foley seems to be getting better each game too and looks very promising.

Not going to get carried away but credit must be given to Carl and his staff for what looks like another very promising looking Witton squad in a much more difficult league. UTA

Suppose with Liverpool being on telly yesterday it may had kept a fair few in. But still 244 is a wee low. We have our core supporters and that's what matters to me anyway. This weekend could be a good measure on how many fans we really have on a Saturday as I cannot expect many Rushall supporters turning up with their current form and they have a relatively small fanbase anyway. Some of the premier division regulars like Matlock get 400 regularly and that's without any promotion pushes. #UTA

A cracking result last night and plenty of good football by us. Echo the fact that Mckenna had a great game closely followed by Prince. But the whole team plated well and are at times a joy to watch, so come on Witton fans get to the game on Saturday to watch the team that is top of the league. UTA
