All Change At Albion

As I'm sure most readers of this site know, there have been significant changes at Wincham Park since last season. Nigel Deeley has appointed Andy Nelson as his assistant in the dugout. Almost all of last season's squad have left the club, notable exceptions being Rod Thornley and of course Brian Pritchard, who has also frequently been seen around the stadium carrying out the essential close season maintenance tasks that are taken for granted by most people. Lifelong Wittoner Graham Pickering has taken over the commercial director's position, and I am sure he will bring some excellent ideas to this role together with his undoubted commitment, please give Graham as much support as you can. A big blow to the club has been the resignation of Match Secretary Graham Edgeley. Although Match Secretary was his official description, we all know that Graham did so much work in many areas, both visible and behind the scenes. At present, Pete Riley and Jeff Metcalf are taking up some of Graham's role, and I am sure they will do an admirable job.
On the field, Albion start the next campaign at home to Frickley on Saturday 16th August. In the F.A. Cup Albion visit either Bamber Bridge or Colwyn Bay in the first qualifier, this game takes place on Saturday 13th September. The Trophy draw is Worksop Town at home on Saturday 18th October.
